Song of Songs 4:10

Isn't it amazing that God gave us a whole book in the Bible that celebrates love so openly? He doesn't treat love as awkward or embarrassing. He calls it beautiful, precious, and worth more than the finest wine. That tells us something important: love is meant to be noticed and treasured, not just assumed.

Here's a simple challenge for today: speak your love out loud. When was the last time you told your spouse, your parent, your child, or a close friend exactly what you love about them? Not a quick “love you” on the way out the door, but something specific. Name it. “I love how patient you are with the kids.” “I love how you always check on me after a hard day.”

Notice how the verse mentions even a fragrance. Love pays attention to small details. The cup of coffee someone made you, the text they sent just to say hi, the way they showed up when it was inconvenient. Today, look for those small things in the people around you, and thank them for it.

If you're married, invest in your marriage this week with one intentional act, a real conversation, a date, putting the phone down. If you're single, celebrate the love you do have, in family and friendship, and remember this: the One who wrote this love song loves you completely, and nothing can change that.

Don't wait for a special occasion. Love grows when it's spoken, noticed, and nurtured, one ordinary day at a time.

Dear Lord, thank You for the gift of love and for the people You've placed in my life. Help me to speak words that build others up and to notice the small, beautiful things about them today. Teach me to love the way You love me. Amen.
