knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin.

Romans 6:6 · Identity
Reflection 1

Here is a truth worth anchoring your whole life to: the person you used to be—the one trapped in sin—died with Jesus on the cross. That old self was not just wounded or improving. It is gone. You are a new person walking around in familiar skin.

Reflection 2

This matters most when temptation shows up. Too often we treat sin like a chain still locked around our ankle, as if we have no choice but to obey it. But sin may knock on your door today—it cannot break in and take over. It has lost its authority over you.

Reflection 3

So here is how to live this out. When that old habit pulls at you—anger, gossip, endless scrolling, whatever it is—pause and say out loud, 'That is not who I am anymore.' Then take one small step in the other direction. Walk out of the room, call a friend, or whisper a prayer for strength right in that moment.

Reflection 4

Freedom is not a one-time feeling; it is a daily remembering. Each morning, before the world starts making demands, remind yourself who you belong to and who you are. You do not fight for victory today—you live from it.

Prayer

Dear Lord, thank You that my old self died with Christ and I am no longer a slave to sin. Help me remember who I am when temptation comes, and give me the courage to walk in the freedom You have already won for me. Amen.
