Romans 5:17

This verse flips our whole picture of who we are. We didn't just get saved from something; we got saved into something. In Christ, we don't survive life or endure it — we reign in it. That's not arrogance. It's identity.

Notice the word 'receive.' You can't earn grace, and you can't earn righteousness. You simply open your hands and take them. So start today by receiving instead of performing: when you wake up, thank God that you are already right with Him before you've done anything at all.

Reigning in life shows up in ordinary moments. When shame whispers that you're a failure, you don't have to agree with it. When fear tries to make your decisions for you, you can answer from a place of security instead of panic. You are not under the rule of your past — grace is ruling over you.

So pick one area where you've felt defeated lately — a habit, a worry, a relationship — and look at it through new eyes. You're not fighting for victory; you're living from it. Walk into that situation today as someone who reigns with Christ, and watch how it changes the way you respond.

Father, thank You that in Jesus I am not a victim of my circumstances but a recipient of Your abundant grace. Help me to live today from Your gift of righteousness, not my own effort. Teach me to reign in life the way You intended — with humility, confidence, and joy. Amen.
