Romans 15:5

Endurance often feels like a solo project, something you have to white-knuckle through on your own. But this verse points us somewhere better: perseverance and encouragement come from God Himself. When you're running on empty, you don't have to manufacture grit. You can go straight to the source and ask for a fresh supply.

Notice where that perseverance is headed — toward being of the same mind with one another. Endurance isn't only about surviving hard days; it's also about not giving up on people. The coworker who frustrates you, the family member you disagree with, the friend with a different opinion — staying united with them takes real patience.

So here's a practical step for today: pick one relationship where you've been tempted to check out. Instead of trying to win the next disagreement, ask a question and listen longer than feels comfortable. Pray for that person before you talk to them. Small choices like that are how unity actually gets built.

And when your patience runs thin, pause and ask God for encouragement before you respond. He often delivers it through other believers, so let someone speak life into you today — and then pass it on. Endurance grows lighter when we carry it together.

Dear Lord, thank You for being the source of my perseverance and encouragement. Help me stay patient and united with the people around me today, especially when it's hard. And make me an encouragement to someone else who's running low. Amen.
