So here's a practical challenge for today: seek out the person everyone else overlooks. Sit with the coworker who eats lunch alone. Ask the quiet person at church how they're really doing. Humility isn't just a feeling in your heart, it's a choice about who you spend time with.
It also means listening before you speak. Try asking someone's opinion and actually taking it. Admit it out loud when you make a mistake. There's something freeing about a person who doesn't have to defend their pride all the time.
Jesus, the wisest person who ever lived, spent His time with ordinary, broken, unnoticed people. When we do the same, we're not lowering ourselves. We're just finally living like Him.
Dear Lord, help me see myself honestly and others with genuine value. Give me the courage to choose the low place today and the grace to admit when I'm wrong. Keep me from thinking more highly of myself than I should. Amen.
