In heaven, worship is not casual. The elders do not just say nice words about God; they fall down before Him. That kind of worship begins with remembering who God is and who we are. He is holy and mighty, and we are His beloved creation.
Today, let your body lead your heart. Kneel beside your bed, bow your head at your kitchen table, or simply sit quietly with your hands open. Physical humility teaches our souls something words alone cannot. When we lower ourselves, we make room for God to be big in our minds.
Notice that this worship happens in the middle of a very troubled book. Even when everything around them is shaking, the elders keep praising. Your stressful week is the perfect place to practice this. When bad news comes, try speaking one sentence of praise out loud instead of letting worry run the show.
Finally, make worship a daily habit, not just a Sunday event. Thank God while you make coffee, whisper praise on your commute, or sing along in the car. Small moments of worship throughout the day keep your heart soft and your eyes on Him.
Dear Lord, You alone deserve my full worship, and I want to give it with my whole life. Teach me to humble myself before You today, in my posture, my words, and my attitude. Keep my heart bowing before You even when life feels loud. Amen.
