You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day

Psalms 91:5 · Courage
Reflection 1

Fear knows how to find us. It shows up at night when we lie awake replaying our worries, and it shows up in broad daylight when bad news hits or life takes an unexpected turn. The beautiful truth here is that God's protection never clocks out. He watches over you around the clock, in the dark and in the light.

Reflection 2

Nighttime fear is often the loudest. When you wake up at 3 a.m. with your heart racing, try this: instead of grabbing your phone or letting your thoughts spiral, whisper a simple prayer and name your worry out loud to God. Fear tends to shrink when it's spoken to Someone bigger than itself.

Reflection 3

The daytime version of fear looks different — a scary diagnosis, a tense email from your boss, a headline that rattles you. You can't always control what comes at you, but you can decide where you run. Make God your first call, not your last resort.

Reflection 4

Here's a practical step for today: take one fear you've been carrying, write it down, and pray over it specifically. Then take one small step of courage anyway. Courage isn't the absence of fear — it's moving forward because you trust that God is covering you, day and night.

Prayer

Father, thank You that You never sleep, even when my worries keep me awake. Help me run to You instead of my fears, and give me the courage to face this day trusting in Your protection. In Jesus' name, Amen.
