Psalms 86:5

Many of us quietly picture God as reluctant to forgive, like He sighs every time we come back with the same old struggle. This verse shows us the opposite: He is ready. You don't have to pry forgiveness out of His hands. It's already waiting for you the moment you call on Him.

So what does calling on Him look like in real life? It's simpler than we make it. Just tell God the truth about your day—where you lost your temper, where you said what you shouldn't have. He doesn't need fancy words or promises of perfection, just an honest heart.

Now for the harder part: passing it on. If God is that ready with you, He invites you to be that ready with others. Think of the person who hurt or annoyed you this week. Forgiveness can start small—a prayer for them, a kind text, or simply choosing to put down the grudge you've been carrying.

Let this truth change how you walk through today. Instead of tiptoeing around God in shame, run to Him with confidence, because His kindness toward you never runs out. The more you receive it, the more freely you'll be able to give it away.

Dear Lord, thank You that You are good and always ready to forgive me. Help me come to You quickly when I fall instead of hiding in shame, and give me the grace to forgive others the way You forgive me. Amen.
