Let heaven and earth praise him; the seas, and everything that moves therein!
David wrote these words in the middle of one of the hardest seasons of his life. He was hurting, rejected, and overwhelmed. Yet he still looked up and called on all of creation to praise God. That tells us something important: praise isn't reserved for our good days.
Today, try stepping outside for just a minute. Listen to the birds, watch the clouds move, notice the trees swaying. Everything around you is already pointing to its Maker. Let what you see pull your heart into worship.
You don't need a church building or a worship band to praise God. You can praise Him while washing dishes, sitting in traffic, or walking to your car. Praise is simply telling God who He is, out loud or quietly in your heart.
If today feels heavy, praise might be the last thing on your mind. But praising shifts our focus off our problems and back onto the God who holds them. Start small: one sentence of thanksgiving is enough to begin.
Dear Lord, thank You that all of creation declares Your goodness, and that You invite me to join in. Help me praise You today, no matter what my circumstances look like. Amen.
