There are days when we feel weak in every way at once. Our bodies ache, our hearts are heavy, and if we're honest, we know we've fallen short too. David shows us what to do in that moment: bring it all to God in one honest breath, asking for both mercy and healing.
Notice that David doesn't separate his sickness from his sin. He treats God as the one place where his whole life can be laid open. That's a freeing way to pray, because you don't have to tidy yourself up first or fix one problem before mentioning the other.
So today, if you're dealing with pain, exhaustion, or worry about your health, take it to God directly. And while you're there, be honest about what's going on in your heart too. A simple, unpolished prayer like this one is exactly the kind God hears and answers.
One practical step: before your head hits the pillow tonight, say a two-sentence prayer out loud. Tell God one thing you need healing for and one thing you need forgiveness for. You may be surprised how much lighter you feel when nothing is hidden.
