Psalms 37:11

The world tells us to push harder, speak louder, and grab every opportunity before someone else does. But this verse paints a different picture. God's way up is actually down. The people who bow low before Him are the ones He lifts up and blesses with lasting peace.

So what does humility look like on an ordinary Tuesday? It looks like doing your job well without needing credit. It looks like letting someone else be right, even when you know you are. It looks like saying "I was wrong" quickly and without making excuses.

Try this today: pick one place where you've been striving to prove yourself, and hand it over to God. Maybe it's a promotion at work, an argument at home, or a dream that hasn't happened yet. Instead of grasping, do the next right thing quietly and trust Him with the outcome.

Notice that the promise isn't just about receiving something. It's about delighting in peace. When we stop fighting for our own way, our souls finally get to rest. Humility is the soil where real peace grows, and God promises it will not go unrewarded.

Dear Lord, forgive me for the times I've pushed and strived to prove myself. Teach me to walk humbly, to serve quietly, and to trust You with my reputation and my future. Let me delight today in the peace that comes from resting in You. Amen.
