Psalms 35:4

There are seasons in life when it feels like someone is actively working against you. Maybe a coworker undermines you, a friend spreads gossip, or a family member seems determined to tear you down. That ache is real, and you are not weak for feeling it. Even David, a man after God's own heart, knew what it was like to have people plotting his downfall.

Notice what David did with that pain: he took it straight to God. He didn't scheme a comeback or spend his nights rehearsing what he'd say if he ran into them. He handed the fight over to the One who sees every hidden motive. That's the heart of this verse—it's not a curse shouted at enemies, it's a burden laid down at God's feet.

So how do you live this out today? When someone wrongs you, tell God exactly how you feel, honestly and without cleaning it up first. Then make one deliberate choice: refuse to plot your own payback. Every time the anger rises up again, pray about it instead of stewing over it. That's not letting them win—that's letting God work.

Here's the freedom on the other side: when God carries the fight, your hands stay clean and your heart stays light. You can keep showing up, doing good, and loving the people in front of you instead of living defensively. God's justice is never late, and His defense of you is more thorough than anything you could arrange yourself.

Father, You see the people who hurt me and the motives behind every word spoken against me. I choose today to stop fighting this battle in my own strength and hand it fully to You. Give me Your peace as I trust You to be my defender. Amen.
