Joy and trust are more connected than we realize. The Bible shows us that real joy doesn't come from everything going our way—it comes from knowing who God is and choosing to lean on Him. When we trust Him with our lives, our hearts find a reason to rejoice that circumstances can't take away.
So how do we live this out today? Start by naming what you're worried about, and then deliberately hand it to God. Instead of rehearsing your problems all day, practice remembering His character: He is faithful, He keeps His promises, and He has never failed you.
Try something simple this morning. Before you check your phone or start your to-do list, take one minute to thank God for three specific things He has done for you. Small habits like this train your heart to rejoice in Him, not just in good days.
And when joy feels far away, don't force a smile or fake it. Go back to trust. Tell God honestly, 'I'm struggling, but I'm choosing to believe You.' That honest trust is exactly where deep, steady joy begins to grow.
Dear Lord, thank You that my joy can rest in who You are, not in how my day is going. Help me trust You with everything on my heart today, and let that trust fill me with real rejoicing. Amen.
