Psalms 27:6

Joy is not always a feeling that shows up on its own. Sometimes it is a sacrifice, something we give to God even when we do not feel like it. That is exactly what makes it so precious to Him.

Maybe you are facing people or problems that seem determined to keep you down. A difficult coworker, a health scare, a bill you cannot pay. Choosing joy in the middle of that is not denial, it is defiance. It is saying, my God is bigger than whatever is in front of me.

So how do you offer joy today? Start small: thank God out loud for three good things before your feet hit the floor. Play worship music while you make breakfast or drive to work, and sing along, even if it is off-key.

Here is the beautiful part: when we praise before we see the answer, something shifts in us. Our eyes move off the problem and back to God. Our head lifts, our heart steadies, and joy starts to feel real instead of forced.

Father, today I choose joy as my offering to You, even when life feels heavy. Lift my head above everything that weighs me down, and put a song back in my heart. In Jesus' name, Amen.
