Psalms 18:2

David wrote these words while life was coming at him hard — enemies chasing him, danger around every corner. He didn't find courage by pretending everything was fine. He found it by getting crystal clear on who God was to him personally: solid ground when nothing else was.

Here's a question worth asking yourself this morning: where am I actually standing? If your footing is your own strength, your bank account, or other people's approval, you're going to wobble every time life shakes things up. God offers you something that doesn't move.

So try this today. Before you check your phone or turn on the news, take thirty seconds and simply say, "God, You are my safe place today." And when anxiety sneaks up mid-afternoon — in that meeting, in that waiting room, in that hard conversation — pause and breathe that truth in again. Small moments of taking refuge add up into real courage.

Courage isn't the absence of fear; it's moving forward knowing you're not standing exposed. Maybe there's a conversation you've been avoiding or a step of obedience you've been putting off. Take it today, because you're not walking out there alone — you are defended, covered, and held.

And when today doesn't go the way you planned, remember that a rock doesn't stop being a rock just because the storm gets loud. You can come back to this truth as many times as you need. He never gets tired of being your refuge.

Dear Lord, thank You for being my solid ground when everything else feels shaky. Help me run to You first instead of leaning on my own strength. Give me courage today to face what's in front of me, knowing You are my shield. Amen.
