Psalms 149:4

Isn't it amazing to think that God actually enjoys you? Not tolerates you, not puts up with you—He takes pleasure in you. If you've been dragging through the day feeling like a disappointment, hear this: the Creator of the universe looks at His people and delights.

But notice who He lifts up: the humble. The world tells us to strive, perform, and prove ourselves so we can be crowned with success. God's way is different. He lifts the head of the person who bows the heart, and He saves those who stop pretending they can save themselves.

So what does humility look like on an ordinary Tuesday? It looks like saying “I was wrong” to your spouse without adding excuses. It looks like asking for help instead of quietly drowning in pride. It looks like doing a kind task no one will ever see, and being perfectly content with that.

Here's your challenge for today: pick one moment to deliberately choose low ground. Apologize first. Listen longer than you want to. Give credit away. Do it trusting this promise—God isn't looking down on you for it; He's smiling, and He comes to crown you with His salvation, not your straining.

Humility isn't thinking less of yourself; it's simply being honest about who God is and who you are. And that honesty opens the door to the sweetest thing of all: His delight resting on you.

Father, forgive me for the times I've tried to impress You instead of simply being humble before You. Today, help me choose the low place—to admit wrong, ask for help, and serve quietly—trusting that You delight in me and will lift me up in Your timing. Amen.
