We all put our hope in something. For some of us it's a paycheck, a relationship, or our own ability to figure life out. But anything that can be lost can leave us anxious, and anything that can fail eventually will.

Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in Yahweh, his God,
This verse points us to a better place to stand. When God Himself is your helper, your hope rests on Someone who never runs out of strength, never breaks a promise, and never walks away. That's where real happiness comes from — not from everything going your way, but from knowing Who holds you.
So how do you live this out today? Start by noticing where your mind runs when you're worried. If it runs to your bank account or to what other people think, gently redirect it: 'Lord, You are my help.' Saying that out loud, even in a quiet moment at your desk or in your car, trains your heart over time.
It also changes how you treat people. The rest of this psalm describes God caring for the oppressed, the hungry, and the stranger. When your hope is anchored in Him, you can give generously and live courageously, because your security isn't riding on the outcome.
Father, thank You that You are my help and my hope. Forgive me for the times I've leaned on things that can't hold me up. Today I place my trust fully in You. Amen.
