Psalms 131:1

We live in a world that tells us we need to have all the answers, fix every problem, and stay one step ahead. But real peace starts with an honest admission: we're not God, and we were never meant to carry everything. Humility isn't putting yourself down. It's simply knowing your right size before a very big God.

Think about what's weighing on you right now. Some of it is yours to handle, but a lot of it probably isn't — other people's choices, the future, things you can't control or even understand. Today, try naming those things and deliberately handing them back to the One who actually holds them.

This verse also warns against lofty eyes — that constant urge to compare, compete, and prove ourselves. You can fight that quietly today by doing something small and unseen without needing anyone to notice. Fold the laundry. Encourage a coworker. Serve your family. Humility grows in the ordinary moments no one applauds.

When you stop chasing what's too big for you, something beautiful happens: your soul settles down. Like a child resting against a parent, you can be still because Someone stronger is handling it. That's the quiet reward of a humble heart — not a smaller life, but a calmer one.

Father, forgive me for the times I've tried to carry what was never mine to carry. Quiet my heart today and teach me to trust You with the things that are too big for me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
