Psalms 119:37

What you look at, you slowly start to love. That is why this prayer matters so much. Our eyes are like a doorway to the heart, and everything we let through that doorway either draws us closer to God or pulls us away from Him.

Take an honest look at your day. How much time do your eyes spend scrolling, comparing, clicking on things that leave you feeling empty? None of us sets out to waste our attention, but worthless things are good at convincing us they matter. The first step is simply noticing where your gaze keeps going.

But this verse is not just about saying no. It is about asking God to revive you in His ways, which means replacing what is empty with what is alive. Open your Bible before you open your phone. Step outside and thank God for something beautiful. Fill your eyes with things that point you back to Him.

You do not have to fight this battle with willpower alone. This verse is a prayer, and God loves to answer it. Every time you turn your eyes away from what is worthless, you make room for something better, and God meets you right there.

So today, guard your doorway. Be quick to look away and quicker to look up. Your heart will follow your eyes, so point them in the right direction.

Dear Lord, You know exactly where my eyes wander, so please help me turn them away from what is worthless. Fill my vision with Your truth and revive my heart in Your ways. Let what I look at today draw me closer to You. Amen.
