This is the day that Yahweh has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it!

Psalms 118:24 · Joy
Reflection 1

We tend to treat ordinary days as days to get through instead of days to receive. But every sunrise is a fresh gift from God's hand, unwrapped whether we notice it or not. Joy starts with simply recognizing that today didn't happen by accident.

Reflection 2

Here's the honest part: some mornings you'll wake up tired, worried, or already behind. Rejoicing doesn't mean pretending everything is fine. It means choosing to look for God's goodness even in the small stuff — a hot meal, a text from a friend, a moment of quiet before the day kicks in.

Reflection 3

So try this: when frustration hits today — the traffic, the hard email, the long to-do list — pause for ten seconds and name one thing God has given you right there in that moment. That tiny pause is how a complaining heart gets retrained into a glad one. Do it two or three times and you'll feel the difference by evening.

Reflection 4

Don't save your joy for when life finally calms down. Today, with all its mess and all its mercy, was made on purpose. Meet it with open hands and a thankful heart, and let that gladness spill onto the people around you.

Prayer

Dear Lord, thank You for making this day and walking through it with me. Help me to notice Your gifts, big and small, and to choose gladness even when things get hard. Make my joy a light to the people I meet today. Amen.
