Psalms 101:1

There are two things worth singing about in this verse: God's kindness and His justice. It is easy to praise God when life feels good, but this psalm reminds us that He deserves our song for who He is, not just for what He gives. His kindness covers our failures, and His justice means He sees every wrong and will make it right.

So here is a practical challenge: start today with a song. It does not have to be beautiful or loud. Hum a hymn while you make coffee, play a worship song on your drive, or simply tell God out loud, "Thank You for being good to me." Praise is a choice we make before our feelings catch up.

This verse also invites us to live out what we sing. If God is kind, we can show unexpected kindness to someone today, maybe the coworker everyone avoids or the neighbor who rarely says hello. If God is just, we can do the right thing even when it costs us, like telling the truth when a lie would be easier.

And when this day brings something hard, remember that singing is not denial. It is defiance. Choosing to praise God in the middle of a mess declares that He is still on the throne, still kind, and still working all things together for good.

Dear Lord, thank You that Your kindness never runs out and Your justice never fails. Help me sing Your praises today, even when my heart feels heavy, and let my life show the same mercy and fairness You show me. Amen.
