Psalms 10:17

Some prayers are long and eloquent, and some are just a heavy sigh at the end of a hard day. The good news is that God hears both. He is drawn to the humble heart that comes to Him honestly, without pretending to have it all together.

Humility in prayer simply means admitting your need. You do not have to fix yourself first or find the perfect words. You can come to God right where you are, with the longing you can barely name, and trust that He catches every bit of it.

So try this today: before your feet hit the floor running, take sixty quiet seconds and tell God one thing you truly desire, even if it is as simple as peace in your home or strength to get through the week. Write it down so you remember what you asked for. Then watch for how He answers, sometimes in ways you did not expect.

This verse also carries a beautiful promise: God steadies and prepares the hearts of those who seek Him. That means even while you wait for your situation to change, He is already at work inside you, strengthening you for whatever comes. His ear is turned toward you right now, and that is a reason for real hope.

Father, thank You that You hear the desires I cannot even put into words. Prepare my heart today, calm my fears, and help me trust that You are always listening. In Jesus' name, Amen.
