Proverbs 7:2

Think about how fiercely you protect your eyes. You blink without being told, you flinch when something flies toward your face, you shield them in bright light. That's the kind of instinctive guarding God invites us to have with His words — treating them like something precious, fragile, and worth defending.

Purity doesn't happen by accident; it's built on what we let into our hearts. So take an honest look at your inputs today — the shows you stream, the accounts you follow, the conversations you linger in. A simple, practical step: set one boundary this week, whether that's a filter on your phone, unfollowing what stirs temptation, or deciding in advance when you'll walk away from a risky situation.

Remember, God's commands aren't a cage — they're a fence that keeps you safe. He ties obedience to life because He knows the path of purity leads to freedom, a clean conscience, and real closeness with Him. When temptation whispers, a heart already stocked with Scripture has a ready answer.

So treasure His word on purpose. Read a little every day, memorize one verse this week, and let it shape what you watch, say, and do. What you treasure, you protect — and what you protect will, by God's grace, protect you.

Father, help me treasure Your word like the most precious thing I own. Guard my eyes, my mind, and my heart today, and give me the courage to walk away from anything that pulls me away from You. Amen.
