Proverbs 29:23

Pride is sneaky. It rarely shows up as bragging; more often it hides in small moments, like interrupting someone, refusing to say you were wrong, or quietly needing to be the smartest person in the room. The world tells us to push ourselves forward, but God's way works differently.

Here is a simple challenge for today: choose one small act of humility. Admit a mistake without making excuses. Ask for help instead of pretending you have it all together. Let someone else speak first, and really listen instead of planning your comeback.

Humility does not mean thinking less of yourself; it means thinking of yourself less. When you stop working so hard to prove your worth, you free up space to love people well. That kind of quiet, steady faithfulness catches God's attention in a way self-promotion never will.

Remember, honor is not something you grab; it is something God gives in His perfect timing. You do not have to fight for a seat at the table. Serve faithfully, stay teachable, and trust the One who promises to lift up those who bow low.

Dear Lord, keep me from the quiet trap of pride today. Help me serve without needing credit and admit when I am wrong. I trust You to lift me up in Your perfect timing. Amen.
