We live in a noisy world where everyone has an opinion, but God invites us to be people who truly listen. Being teachable doesn't come naturally, because it takes humility to admit we don't have it all figured out. Yet this is exactly where wisdom begins.
Think about where God might be trying to teach you today. It could be through a sermon, a wise friend's advice, or even a correction you'd rather not hear. Instruction often shows up in ordinary moments, hidden inside everyday conversations.
There's a big difference between hearing something and actually applying it. It's easy to nod along on Sunday and go back to life unchanged by Monday. Ask yourself: what is one thing God has shown me recently that I haven't put into practice yet?
Make listening a habit. Open your Bible before you open your phone. When someone offers counsel, pause before you defend yourself. A heart that leans into instruction stays soft, and soft hearts are the ones that grow.
Dear Lord, make me teachable today. Open my ears to Your wisdom, whether it comes through Your Word or through the people You've placed in my life. Help me not just to hear, but to live out what I learn. Amen.
