Proverbs 18:10

In Bible times, a tower was the safest place in a city. When danger appeared, people didn't wander toward it calmly—they ran. That picture tells us how to respond when trouble hits our own lives: quickly and urgently, heading straight for God.

Notice that it's His name that's the refuge. His name stands for everything He is—faithful, powerful, unchanging. When you call on Him, you're not whispering into empty air; you're stepping inside a shelter that cannot be shaken.

What does this look like on an ordinary Tuesday? It's a whispered prayer the moment anxiety rises. It's pausing before you snap back at someone and saying, 'Lord, help me.' It's choosing to pray before you panic, and leaning on His promises instead of the worst-case scenarios spinning in your head.

And here's the best part: you don't have to clean yourself up first. You run because you belong to Him, not because you've earned the right. Whatever today holds—a hard conversation, a frightening report, a stack of bills—the door is open, and it never locks.

Father, thank You for being my safe place when life feels overwhelming. Teach me to run to You first, not last. I trust You to hold me steady today. Amen.
