Proverbs 16:22

Think about what a fountain does. It keeps giving clean, fresh water, over and over, without running dry. That's the picture here: understanding isn't a one-time deposit of knowledge, it's a ongoing source of life that keeps refreshing your decisions, your relationships, and your peace.

So how do you live this today? Pause before you react. When someone frustrates you or a decision pressures you, take a breath and ask, "What does wisdom say here?" That small pause is often the difference between a mess and a blessing.

Also, go after understanding on purpose. Read a little Scripture each day, ask questions instead of assuming, and surround yourself with people who make you think, not just people who agree with you. Wisdom rarely just shows up; it's usually pursued.

And notice the honest warning in this verse: foolishness punishes itself. Careless words, impulsive spending, and shortcuts almost always bring their own consequences, no one has to enforce them. Choosing understanding today spares you a lot of cleanup tomorrow.

The good news? You don't need to be brilliant, just willing. God gives understanding generously to anyone who asks. Start small, stay teachable, and let that fountain flow.

Dear Lord, make me someone who pursues understanding instead of rushing ahead in foolishness. Give me the humility to ask, listen, and learn today. Thank You that Your wisdom is a fountain that never runs dry. Amen.
