Proverbs 14:33

Real wisdom doesn't need a microphone. It rests quietly in the heart of a person who understands, showing up in how they listen, how they respond, and how they treat people. You've probably met someone like this — they don't say much, but when they do, you lean in.

This verse also carries a warning: whatever lives inside us eventually comes out. Foolishness doesn't stay hidden forever; it bubbles up in our words, our reactions, and our decisions. What we store in our hearts becomes what we spill into our relationships and choices.

So the real question isn't "How do I look wise?" It's "What am I feeding my heart?" Time in God's Word, honest prayer, and listening before speaking — these are how wisdom settles deep inside us. It's slow, quiet work, but it's the only kind that lasts.

Today, before you react to that frustrating email, that careless comment, or that unexpected change of plans, pause for a moment. Ask yourself what's really driving your response. Let the quiet wisdom God has been building in you do the talking instead of your first impulse.

Wisdom that rests in the heart will always show itself at the right time. You don't have to perform it — you just have to keep filling up with it.

Father, fill my heart with Your wisdom so that what flows out of me honors You. Help me spend more time listening to You than proving myself to others. In Jesus' name, Amen.
