Proverbs 10:28

There's a big difference between happiness and joy. Happiness depends on what's happening around us, but joy runs deeper—it's anchored in knowing God and walking in His ways. The world chases quick fixes, but those always fade.

Today, ask yourself an honest question: where is my hope resting? Is it in your job, your savings, other people's approval, or your own plans? None of those are bad things, but they can't hold the weight of your future. Only God can.

Living this out starts with small choices. Do the right thing even when nobody's watching. Speak truth even when a shortcut would be easier. Every time you choose God's way over your own, you're building on something that lasts—and joy grows in that soil.

And here's the good news for the hard days: if you belong to God, your joy isn't canceled by your circumstances. Your story ends in joy, guaranteed by Him. Hold onto that promise when today feels heavy, and let it steady your heart until you see it with your own eyes.

Dear Lord, forgive me for the times I've placed my hope in things that fade. Help me root my joy in You today and choose Your way in the small, everyday decisions. Thank You that my future with You is secure and full of joy. Amen.
