It's easy to think we've learned all we need to learn. But wisdom isn't a finish line you cross once — it's a path you walk every single day. Notice that the people Scripture calls wise are the ones who keep listening and keep growing, no matter how old or experienced they are.
So here's a practical challenge: in your next conversation this week, resist the urge to jump in with your own opinion. Ask a question instead, and really listen to the answer. You might be surprised what you learn when you stop trying to be the smartest person in the room.
This also applies to the big decisions in your life. When you're facing something hard — a job change, a money issue, a family struggle — don't try to figure it out alone. Reach out to someone who's walked that road before you, especially someone grounded in God's Word. Asking for counsel isn't weakness; it's wisdom in action.
Finally, remember that God's Word is your greatest classroom. Even passages you've read a dozen times have something new to teach you when you come with a teachable heart. Show up tomorrow like a student, not a graduate.
Dear Lord, keep me teachable today. Help me listen more than I speak, seek wise counsel instead of trusting only myself, and learn something new from Your Word. Amen.
