Philippians 4:20

We live in a world where taking credit is practically a sport. We polish our image, collect our accomplishments, and quietly want people to notice. But this verse calls us to a completely different posture: one where God gets the spotlight, not us.

Here's a simple way to practice this today. When someone compliments your work, pause for a split second and silently thank God before you say anything. The talent, the opportunity, even the energy to do the job—all of it came from His hand first.

Humility isn't about putting yourself down. It's about seeing things honestly: God opened the doors, God carried you through, God supplied what you needed. When that truth sinks in, gratitude naturally pushes pride out of the way.

Try a small habit tonight. Before bed, name one good thing that happened today and say out loud, "Thank You, Lord—that was You." Little moments of giving glory back train our hearts to stay humble.

And when you fail or fall short, this verse frees you too. Your worth isn't built on your performance, because God is the one who gets the glory anyway. You can rest, serve, and work without the exhausting pressure of proving yourself.

Father, forgive me for the times I've held onto credit that belongs to You. Give me a humble heart today that quietly points others to Your goodness in everything I do. Amen.
