Philippians 3:20

Think about what a passport means: no matter where you travel, it tells you who you are and where you belong. Paul says that's exactly what we have as believers. Our true citizenship isn't in our job title, our bank account, or even our nationality. We belong to heaven, and that changes everything about how we live on earth.

This matters most when life gets shaky. If your identity is built on earthly things, then every setback feels like losing yourself. But when you know your real home is with Christ, you can face disappointment, loss, or criticism without falling apart, because your worth was never on the line to begin with.

Citizenship also shapes your daily choices. Heaven runs on values like honesty, forgiveness, generosity, and kindness, even when the world around you pushes the opposite. Every time you choose those things at work, at home, or online, you're living out your true identity and giving people a glimpse of your real home.

So today, notice when you start chasing approval or measuring yourself by the world's scoreboard. Pause, take a breath, and remember whose you are. Then go about your ordinary day as what you truly are: a citizen of heaven, right where you are.

Dear Lord, thank You that my true home is with You. Help me live today as a citizen of heaven, with hope, humility, and love in every ordinary moment. Keep my heart anchored where it belongs. Amen.
