It's comforting to know that Paul, near the end of his life, admitted he hadn't arrived yet. If the greatest missionary in history was still a work in progress, you can stop pretending you have it all together. God isn't waiting for you to be perfect. He's inviting you to keep moving toward Him.

Not that I have already obtained, or am already made perfect; but I press on, that I may take hold of that for which also I was taken hold of by Christ Jesus.
A lot of us give up on our faith because we feel behind. We compare ourselves to who we think we should be by now and feel like failures. But this verse gives us a better question: not "Am I there yet?" but "Am I still pressing on?" Direction matters more to God than speed.
Pressing on looks ordinary most days. It's opening your Bible for five minutes before your phone. It's choosing honesty in one hard conversation. It's forgiving someone one more time. Small, faithful steps today are how you take hold of the life Christ has for you.
And here's the freeing part: press on means leaving the past behind, both your failures and your successes. Yesterday's mess doesn't disqualify you, and yesterday's wins don't carry you. God's grip on you is stronger than your grip on Him, so take one fresh step forward today.
Dear Lord, thank You that You hold onto me even when I stumble. Help me stop chasing perfection and simply press on toward You today, one faithful step at a time. Keep my eyes on what's ahead. Amen.
