Philippians 2:2

Unity sounds nice until real life shows up. Someone at church rubs you the wrong way. A family member sees things completely differently than you do. Paul knew this wasn't easy, which is why he asked for it so plainly: get on the same page, love the same way, pull in the same direction.

Here's the practical part: unity starts in your own heart before it ever shows up in a group. Today, ask yourself one honest question—am I holding onto a grudge, a scoreboard, or a need to be right? Those things quietly pull people apart, even when nobody says a word about it.

Try something small this week. Reach out to the person you've been keeping at a distance. Listen longer than feels comfortable before you respond. Let someone else's preference win on purpose—maybe it's where your family eats dinner or which ministry gets your help.

Being like-minded doesn't mean agreeing on everything. It means agreeing on what matters most: loving God and loving people. When you keep that as the center, the smaller differences stop feeling like mountains.

Dear Lord, soften my heart toward the people around me, especially the ones who are hard to love. Show me where I've been creating division instead of peace. Make me someone who brings people together today. Amen.
