Micah 7:18

There is something breathtaking about the way God forgives. He doesn't just tolerate our failures—He willingly lets them go. Anger doesn't get the last word with Him; mercy does. That is the kind of God we serve.

Many of us live weighed down by old mistakes, replaying them as if God is still holding them over us. But if He has let them go, you can stop picking them back up. When shame whispers your worst moments to you today, answer it with the truth: you are already forgiven.

This also challenges how we treat the people who have hurt us. If God delights in showing mercy, then forgiveness is not a burden He grudgingly demands—it's a family trait He invites us into. Ask yourself honestly: is there someone I've been keeping on the hook? Maybe today is the day to finally let them off.

And remember, forgiveness often shows up in small, ordinary places—a sharp word at breakfast, a coworker who rubbed you wrong, a driver who cut you off. You can practice little mercies all day long. Every time you release a small offense instead of nursing it, you look a little more like your Father.

Forgiveness is not a one-time event; it's a daily posture of the heart. Receive it from God, extend it to others, and watch how it softens everything around you. Mercy is contagious—start the spread today.

Dear Lord, thank You for being a God who forgives completely and delights in showing mercy. Help me to accept Your forgiveness fully and to pass it on freely to the people around me today. Amen.
