Notice that Jesus didn't wait for people to come to Him — He went to them. He walked through cities and villages, meeting people right where they lived, worked, and struggled. That's the heart of God: He moves toward pain, not away from it.
Matthew 9:35

Jesus went about all the cities and the villages, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the Good News of the Kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people.
Most of us won't perform miracles, but we all get the same invitation to show up. The coworker going through chemo, the neighbor whose spouse just left, the friend in the hospital waiting room — these are our cities and villages. Compassion begins with simply being willing to go.
Practically, that might look like a phone call you've been putting off, a meal dropped on a doorstep, or just sitting quietly with someone who's hurting. It might even mean praying out loud with them. You don't need perfect words — you just need a willing heart and your presence.
And don't forget to bring your own pain to Jesus, too. He healed every disease and every sickness, which means nothing you're facing is too small or too broken for Him. Whatever you're carrying today, He is still the Savior who comes looking for you.
So here's a simple challenge: this week, pick one person who is sick or struggling, and take one step toward them. A text, a visit, a prayer — anything. Healing often starts with someone simply showing up.
Dear Lord, open my eyes to the hurting people around me and give me the courage to go to them instead of waiting. Thank You that You never turn away anyone who comes to You in pain. Use me today to bring a touch of Your healing to someone who needs it. Amen.
