Matthew 7:21

It's easy to talk about faith. We can sing the songs, say the right words, and even post Bible verses online. But Jesus makes it clear that words alone don't build a life with God — obedience does.

And one of the clearest things God asks of us is forgiveness. We can't call Jesus 'Lord' while refusing to release the person who hurt us. Holding a grudge and following Jesus don't fit in the same heart.

So here's a practical step: think of one person you've been keeping at arm's length because of what they did. Forgiveness doesn't mean pretending it didn't hurt. It means choosing, today, to let go of the debt — maybe starting with a simple prayer for them or a kind word you'd rather not say.

Some days you'll have to forgive again, because the hurt resurfaces. That's okay. Forgiving is less like flipping a switch and more like walking — one obedient step at a time. Every time you choose to forgive, you're doing the will of your Father, and that's exactly what Jesus is looking for.

Father, help me to be someone who does Your will and not just talks about faith. Give me the courage to forgive the person You've brought to mind today. Let my life match my words. Amen.
