But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness

Matthew 6:33 · Focus
Reflection 1

Most of us start the day with a list that's already too long. Deadlines, bills, messages, appointments—all of it fights for the front of the line. But Jesus offers a better way to order our lives: put God first, and let everything else fall in behind Him.

Reflection 2

That can start with something small. Before you pick up your phone tomorrow morning, take two minutes to pray or read a short passage. That tiny act of putting God first trains your heart for every choice that follows.

Reflection 3

This verse also speaks to the middle of your day, when real decisions show up. When you're deciding how to spend money, time, or energy, pause and ask: does this reflect what God cares about? Choosing honesty over a shortcut, or generosity over hoarding, is seeking His righteousness in real, everyday moments.

Reflection 4

And when worry about tomorrow starts creeping in, treat it as a signal to refocus. You can't control everything, but you can hand today back to God. When He holds first place in your heart, everything else tends to find its rightful place.

Reflection 5

Prayer

Dear Lord, help me put You first in my mornings, my decisions, and my worries. When life gets noisy and crowded, gently pull my focus back to You. I trust You with all the rest. Amen.
