Matthew 5:3

Being poor in spirit simply means admitting that we need God. The world celebrates people who seem to have it all together, but Jesus says the blessing rests on those who know they don't. That honesty is not weakness. It is the starting point for everything God wants to do in us.

So how do we live this out today? Start with a simple, honest prayer before you rush into your day: God, I need You in this. Say it before the big meeting, the hard conversation, or the decision you've been worrying over. Dependence on God isn't a last resort; it's the wisest first step.

Humility also shows up in small, everyday choices. Ask for help when you need it instead of struggling alone. Listen fully before you speak, and let someone else have the last word. Do something kind without needing anyone to notice.

Here is the beautiful promise: when we come to God with empty hands, He fills them. We don't earn His kingdom by being strong; we receive it by being honest about our need. The moment we stop pretending, we make room for Him to work.

If you're feeling weak, worn out, or aware of your shortcomings today, take heart. You are exactly the kind of person Jesus called blessed. Bring your empty hands to Him and let Him fill them.

Dear Lord, teach me to come to You with empty hands and an honest heart. Today I choose to depend on You instead of my own strength. Thank You that Your kingdom belongs to those who know they need You. Amen.
