Matthew 5:16

Jesus didn't say to make a show of your faith. He said to let your light shine so that people notice God, not you. That's the real test of focus: when someone sees the good in your life, where do their eyes land? On you, or on your Father in heaven?

Living this out today doesn't require anything dramatic. It looks like doing your job with honesty when no one is checking. It looks like speaking kindly to a difficult person, showing up for a neighbor, or staying patient in traffic when you'd rather honk.

Here's a heart check: ask yourself why you do the good things you do. If you're mostly hoping to be noticed, your light is pointing the wrong way. But when you quietly serve and give without applause, people start to wonder what's different about you, and that's your opening to point them to God.

So today, pick one small thing. Encourage someone who's discouraged. Help without being asked. Forgive quickly. These ordinary moments are exactly how a light shines, and God gets the glory every time.

Remember, you don't have to manufacture brightness on your own. The light isn't yours to begin with. It's borrowed from Him, and your simply job is to keep it shining.

Dear Lord, help me live today in a way that makes people see You, not me. Keep my heart humble and my focus on Your glory. Use my small, quiet acts to point someone to You. Amen.
