Matthew 5:14

Jesus didn't say you might become light someday or that you should try harder to be light. He said you are light, right now, simply because you belong to Him. Your identity isn't something you earn—it's something you received.

A city on a hill can't hide, and neither can your faith. People are watching how you live at work, in traffic, at the dinner table, and online. The way you respond to stress and disappointment preaches a sermon louder than words ever could.

Here's the good news: you don't have to be loud to shine. Honesty when lying would be easier, patience with a difficult coworker, a kind word to someone everyone else overlooks—these are flashes of light in ordinary places. Darkness notices even the smallest glow.

So stop shrinking back and assuming someone else will do it. Ask yourself this morning: where is one dark place in my world where I can carry light today? Then walk in there on purpose.

Dear Lord, thank You for calling me light even on the days I don't feel bright. Help me live today from that identity, shining in the small and ordinary moments. Use me to bring hope to someone sitting in a dark place. Amen.
