Matthew 4:7

When the enemy pushed Jesus to jump from the highest point of the temple, Jesus refused. He didn't need a dramatic rescue to know His Father was trustworthy. Real trust doesn't demand proof; it rests in what God has already said.

We test God when we make reckless choices and expect Him to clean up the mess. Ignoring wise counsel with our money, our health, or our relationships, then asking God to bail us out, isn't faith. Faith obeys; presumption demands.

Sometimes we test God in quieter ways too, like refusing to move until He gives us a sign. But He has already given us His Word and His Spirit. He asks us to walk forward in obedience, one faithful step at a time.

Today, ask yourself an honest question: am I trusting God or testing Him? Choose the ordinary obedience of prayer, wisdom, and steady faithfulness. That's where real trust lives, not in forcing God to prove Himself, but in letting His Word prove true through how we live.

Dear Lord, forgive me for the times I've demanded signs instead of simply trusting You. Help me walk in wise obedience today and take You at Your Word. In Jesus' name, Amen.
