Whoever therefore humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Children do not pretend to have it all together. When they need help, they simply ask. Somewhere along the way, most of us learned to hide our needs, and that quiet pride builds walls between us and God, and between us and the people we love.
Today, choose honesty over image. Admit when you do not know something. Say you were wrong quickly, even before someone asks you to. Every small act of honesty is humility in motion, and God honors it more than we realize.
Humility also shows up in what we do when nobody is watching. Look for one unnoticed task today, like washing the dishes, listening to a friend without interrupting, or helping a coworker without mentioning it. Small unseen service is exactly the kind of greatness Jesus pointed to.
Finally, let go of the need to be impressive. You do not have to prove your worth, because God already knows you and loves you anyway. When you stop chasing importance, your heart becomes soft enough for God to use.
Father, teach me to be small enough to receive Your grace and honest enough to ask for help. Help me serve someone today without needing credit. Remind me that my worth comes from You alone. Amen.
