Matthew 14:14

Notice what Jesus did first: He saw the people. Not just looked at them—He really saw them, and what He saw moved His heart. So many people around us are hurting quietly, and we can walk right past them if we're not paying attention.

Compassion in this verse isn't just a warm feeling. Jesus felt something, and then He did something about it. Real compassion always moves toward action, even if the action is small.

So here's a simple challenge for today: slow down enough to actually see the people in your life. The coworker who seems off, the neighbor who never gets visitors, the family member you've been too busy for. Ask God to give you His eyes, then take one small step—listen, show up, pray for someone, offer help.

And don't forget yourself. If you're carrying pain today, you are exactly the kind of person Jesus draws near to. Bring your hurts to Him honestly, and trust that His compassion toward you hasn't changed.

Dear Lord, open my eyes to see people the way You see them, and give me a heart that doesn't just feel but acts. Heal the wounds I'm carrying, and use me today to bring Your comfort to someone else. Amen.
