Mark 14:27

Jesus knew His closest friends were about to run away, and He told them so before it happened. He didn't say it to shame them, but to prepare them. Even with full knowledge of their failure, He never canceled His love for them or His plan to save them.

That should comfort us, because most of us overestimate our own strength. We say things like, 'I would never walk away from God,' just like Peter insisted he would never deny Jesus. But real faith starts with honesty: 'Lord, apart from You, I can fall just as fast as anyone.' That humility is what drives us to pray, stay connected to other believers, and stay close to Christ instead of trusting our own resolve.

And if you have stumbled recently, hear this: your failure did not surprise God, and it does not disqualify you. After the scatter came the reunion. Jesus rose, found His frightened followers, and restored every single one of them. He does the same today for anyone who comes back to Him.

So live today depending on Christ's strength, not your own willpower. And when you see someone else waver in their faith, don't scatter further or point fingers. Be the one who walks toward them and points them back to the Shepherd who never stopped calling His sheep by name.

Dear Lord, forgive me for the times I've trusted my own strength more than Your grace. Keep me close to You, humble in my weakness, and quick to return when I fall. Help me also to restore others gently, the way You have restored me. Amen.
