When Jesus stood up in that synagogue, He made it clear who He came for: the brokenhearted, the trapped, the crushed. If that describes you today, hear this clearly—you are not too broken for Him. You are actually the exact person He came looking for.
Healing is not only about physical miracles. Jesus also touches the wounds no one can see: grief that never quite healed, shame you've carried for years, anxiety that keeps you up at night. Bring those hidden places to Him honestly. He is never impatient with your pain.
This verse is also an invitation, not just a comfort. Healing often flows through ordinary people—a listening ear, a kind word, a meal dropped off at the right moment. This week, ask God to open your eyes to one brokenhearted person around you, then take one small step toward them.
So don't hide your wounds, and don't look away from the wounds of others. Maybe that means finally talking to someone about your struggle, extending forgiveness, or simply asking a friend, 'How are you really doing?' Jesus is still healing and setting people free today—and He often does it through people like you.
Dear Lord, thank You that You came for the brokenhearted, and that includes me. Heal the wounds I've been carrying in silence, and make me aware of someone who needs Your comfort this week. Use me to be a small part of Your healing work. Amen.
