Luke 24:52

Think about the strangest goodbye you have ever seen. The disciples had just watched Jesus leave this earth, and instead of grieving, they walked away full of joy. Why? Because they finally understood that His story was not over, and neither was theirs. When we really believe that God is still working, even in the seasons when we cannot see Him, joy becomes possible no matter what we are facing.

Notice that worship came first. Before the joy flooded their hearts, the disciples bowed down and honored Jesus. There is a lesson there for us. Joy often does not show up until we pause and remember who God is. So before you check your phone or your to-do list tomorrow, take sixty seconds to simply thank Him for something. It changes the whole direction of your day.

Here is the part that hits home: the disciples did not stay on the mountaintop. They went back down to Jerusalem, the same city where they had hidden in fear just days earlier. That is where the real test of joy lives, not at church on Sunday, but in traffic on Monday, in the kitchen, at the job, in the waiting room. Jesus wants to fill the ordinary places of your life with His joy, not just the highlight moments.

So here is your challenge today. Wherever you are going back to, whether it is a routine, a responsibility, or even a place that once made you afraid, carry joy with you on purpose. Look for one person to encourage. Thank God out loud for three good things. Small steps like these train your heart to live in the joy that is already yours.

Dear Lord, thank You that Your presence goes with me into every ordinary part of my day. Teach me to worship You first, so that Your joy fills my heart before anything else does. Help me carry that joy to everyone I meet today. Amen.
