Luke 14:11

We all want to be noticed. There's something in us that craves the credit, the applause, the front seat. But Jesus turns that whole ladder upside down: the way up is actually the way down.

So what does that look like today? Let someone go ahead of you in line. Do a kind thing and tell no one about it. When a compliment comes your way, share the credit instead of collecting it.

Humility isn't putting yourself down or pretending you're worthless. It's simply taking your eyes off yourself long enough to listen, to serve, and to say those brave little words: “I was wrong.”

Here's the good news: God sees what no one else does. When you choose the lower place, you're not losing anything—you're placing yourself exactly where His hands can lift you up, in His timing and for His glory.

Dear Lord, forgive me for the times I've chased attention and held tightly to my own credit. Teach me to serve quietly and to let You do the exalting. Thank You that Your approval is enough for me. Amen.
