When Jesus saw her, he called her and said to her,“Woman, you are freed from your infirmity.”
In a crowded synagogue, a woman bent over for eighteen years could easily have gone unnoticed. But Jesus saw her. He does not just see crowds; He sees individuals. Whatever struggle you are carrying quietly today, know that God has not overlooked you.
Notice that Jesus called her to come to Him. She did not have to push through the crowd or prove she deserved attention. He initiated, and she responded. When you sense God drawing you closer, whether through Scripture, prayer, or a quiet nudge in your spirit, take the step and come to Him.
Jesus spoke freedom before anything visible had changed. The word came first, then the healing. Many of us want to see results before we trust, but faith often means standing on what God has said while He is still working behind the scenes.
Finally, the woman stood up straight. She did not go back to her old posture. If Jesus has freed you from something, whether guilt, fear, or a painful season, live like a free person today. Refuse to bend back under weights He has already lifted.
Practice this today: bring your longest-standing burden to Jesus in prayer, and then make one small choice that reflects freedom instead of fear. Healing often begins the moment we respond to His call.
