The disciples came back bursting with excitement. They had gone out in Jesus' name, and they saw things happen that only God could do. Their joy wasn't about their own talent or training. It came from watching God work through their simple obedience.
That same joy is available to you today. Maybe God is asking you to do something small: pray for a coworker, encourage a friend, or help a neighbor who's struggling. When you step out in His name instead of holding back, you get a front-row seat to what He can do.
Take a moment to look back at your week. Where did God show up, even in little ways? A conversation that went better than expected, strength you didn't know you had, an answer to prayer you almost forgot to notice. Gratitude turns ordinary moments into reasons for joy.
One caution: don't tie your joy only to results. Some days you'll see fruit, and some days you won't. Jesus gently reminded His followers that their deepest reason to rejoice wasn't what they accomplished. It was that they belonged to Him. That never changes, no matter how your week goes.
So today, serve someone in Jesus' name. Then pause and celebrate what God does with it, big or small. Joy grows every time we notice Him at work.
Dear Lord, thank You that You work through ordinary people like me when I step out in faith. Help me serve someone in Your name today and keep my joy anchored in You, not in my results. I belong to You, and that is my greatest reason to rejoice. Amen.
